She brought together both worlds and brought Tejano music to the forefront. Her tragic death cut a hole in her growing popularity and, as often happens when a bright deeply genial star dies far too young left many to mourn all the untapped potential. Her fans have worked even harder in an effort to not forget what she's accomplished. Her death in a shooting triggered emotion in Latino community that is similar in a way to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena was a wildly loved singer by Latinos throughout North America. But her songs touched the hearts of both young and old.
